What do I need to know before registering?

• All courses must be registered for online!

• The registration for the courses is binding.
• If a course is full, you will be placed on the waiting list. Please note that this placement is also binding. If a place becomes free, you will automatically move forward on the list. Once you are admitted to the course, you will receive confirmation of admission to the class by e-mail. The fee for the course will only be debited once you have actually been admitted to the course.
• The reimbursement of the course fee is possible if you withdraw from the course within one week after registering for it. This withdrawal must be made in writing in a letter to the SLI secretary. Thereafter (even in case of injury or illness) the entire course fee will be will be retained by the SLI. 
  
• Please note the entry level before registering and make use of the opportunity to assess your level yourself according to the European Framework of Reference.
• You will need your student registration number (Matrikelnummer) and the particulars of your bank account to register online.
• If you receive Bafög, please note that you will have to produce a copy of proof that you are a Bafög recipient for the SLI office before registering. Otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel your registration.

• Please pay careful attention to the type of course and, when registering for P courses, make it clear for which subject you need to have proof of having studied the respective language according to the examination regulations (Prüfungsordnung).
• You may only register for a P course (free of charge) if the examination regulations of your subject of study require proof of having studied the respective foreign language (Fremdsprachennachweis).

What do the courses cost?

• The scale of fees for the SLI can be found under fees charged.

What are the conditions of payment?

• The course fee will be debited from your bank account.

How do I get confirmation that I have been accepted for a course?

• G courses: After payment to the SLI you will receive a letter of confirmation by e-mail. This will enable you to print out the Teilnahmebescheinigung, the confirmation of admission to the course, yourself. This must be produced as written proof at the start of the course.
• P courses: These courses are free of charge, but you have to register for them. You can print out the Teilnahmebescheinigung, the confirmation of admission to the course, yourself. It must be produced at the start of the course.
