Proofreading of Teaching Material in English

University faculty staff who teach courses in English to an international student body

Benefit

Part of teaching in English is creating well-worded, appropriate learning material. Whether you are preparing presentation slides or class handouts, now you can have material created on your own checked by EMI staff. As part of the proofreading process, we keep in mind:

• The accuracy of the English regarding proper terminology
• The clarity of the English in line with the overall learning objective of the material
• Potential intercultural factors

• You send us the material to be checked with a deadline (ideally 2 working days in advance)
• We confirm your request and go through the material
• You receive our feedback either via email or via a face to face meeting if requested

• All material sent to us remains confidential
• We may need to contact you to ask for clarification
• This service does not apply to proofreading of presentations for academic conferences or academic papers for publication. It is exclusively limited to learning material you have compiled for your teaching in English for the international classroom.
