Classroom observation services
After teaching in English, you may reflect and wonder whether the main message was clear or if your English was effective for a particular situation. We can help you answer those questions. Classroom observation conducted by EMI special purpose language instructors with international classroom experience offers teaching staff the following benefits:
- Opportunity to gain an outsider’s perspective on the class
- Constructive feedback on use of English in teaching
- Chance to exchange ideas and receive a plan of action for further support for your teaching in English
How an observation works
- You make a request for us to visit your class
- We contact you to find out more about your course and when you would like us to visit your class
- After the observation, we give you 3 questions for self-reflection and schedule a prompt follow-up meeting (usually within 7-10 days) to give you constructive feedback
The constructive feedback meeting
- Your self reflections are discussed in combination with our observations
- We provide constructive feedback on language use for teaching in English
- Observations and feedback are conducted by Gregg Dubow and Susanne Gundermann
- If you would like to set up an initial meeting or have any questions, please contact us via email or phone.
